Illustration & Print Projects

Frustrated writer or artist? Definitely artist. If I were allowed to choose my creative Muse, as fantastic as writing is, well, I’d opt for being able to draw that turtle on the inside of those matchbooks. Blindfolded. ("that which is well drawn, is well painted")… then I’d want to master everything and anything involving turpentine, drop clothes, and kneaded erasers. Sadly, I struggle with the drawing and design sensibilities with which I was hatched (last art class? Pottery, Shawnee Mission West High School, 1981 — go vikings!).

Here, then, are some examples of my feeble efforts (the most popular "works" I’ve done are the Flying Spaghetti Monster coloring book pages). Remember: Bad artists copy, great artists steal.

Christmas Gift Tag
Christmas Gift Tag 2005. Yeah, the angriest tags imaginable. What it says, having my scowling mug but then signing the tag "Santa" is left for you to figure.
